Peggy Diggs received her B.A. in Fine Arts from George Washington University in Washington, D.C., and her M.F.A. in Printmaking from Cranbrook Art Academy
in Bloomfield Hills, MI. Missing access to a litho press once she left grad school, she proceeded to do work in a variety of media for some years until
the late 1980s. At that point, she became involved in an activist practice oriented toward social justice and public temporary art projects which related
to marginalized groups. She has worked from Winnipeg to Caracas, and has received grants such as the Creative Capital grant, several New England Foundation
for the Arts grants, a Lila Wallace Readers' Digest International Artists grant, a Creative Time grant, and studio residencies through the Lower Manhattan
Cultural Council, Millay Colony, and The Wurlitzer Foundation. In addition, she occasionally does her own projects as informed by the work she's done with others.
